Pijawnia [piˈjavɲa] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Siemiątkowo, within Żuromin County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland.[1] It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) south of Siemiątkowo, 26 km (16 mi) south of Żuromin, and 97 km (60 mi) north-west of Warsaw. It played an important role in World War II as an ammunition dump that was overrun by the Germans in September 1939.
