"Parvardigar" is a song by Pete Townshend. In 1972 Townshend adapted the song from the Parvardigar Prayer by Meher Baba, and released it on his Meher Baba tribute album I Am, and again on the album Who Came First that same year. In 2001 Townshend rereleased "Parvardigar" on a compilation CD titled Jai Baba. A German language version was also recorded, translated for Townshend by Hilde Halpern. [1] In 2001 three versions of the song, including the German version, were also released in an EP named O' Parvardigar.
The song was featured in the 1976 Ginny Katz film O Parvardigar.[2]
