Pal Dushmani

Pal Dushmani (died 1457) was an Albanian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

A member of the Dushmani family he was born in northern Albania in the late 14th century. In a 1427 papal document he is mentioned as Bishop of Pult.[1] Between 1440 and 1443 he was pastor in Trevizo.[2] From 1443 to 1446 he held the bishopric of Shas, while in 1446 he became Bishop of Drisht.

In July 1452 Pope Nicholas V sent Pal Dushmani to settle the conflict between Lekë Dukagjini and Skanderbeg.[3]

He authored several short biographies and chronicles of contemporary events. Pal Dushmani died in 1457.[4]
