The painted sweetlips or slate sweetlips, Diagramma pictum, is a species of marine fish in the family Haemulidae.[1] It is widespread throughout the tropical waters of the Indo-West Pacific region, Red Sea included.[2] This species reaches a length of 100 cm (39 in), but common size is 55 cm (22 in).[3]
As other fish, the painted sweetlips is the host of many parasites. These include the lepocreadiid digenean Holorchis castex and the monorchiid digenean Lasiotocus plectorhynchi in the intestine[4] and the cystidicolid nematode Metabronemoides mirabilis in the stomach.[5]
