Ondipudur is a part of Coimbatore city located near Singanallur. It comes under Coimbatore Municipal Corporation. The name of the locality derives from the Tamil language words Ondi ("Separated") and Pudur ("Small town")known for its uniqueness

Ondipudur lies at the easternmost part of Coimbatore city separated from other part of city by the Noyyal river in west, Airport terminal area in the far north and railway bridge in east, also by loop of same Noyyal river which separates the town by a semi circular loop. Postcode of Ondipudur is 641016.

Ondipudur has two cinema theatres named Jaishanthi and Radharani(closed before 5 years). Schools include Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Matriculation Higher Secondary School, St.Joseph Matriculation higher secondary school, CRR Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, Kalaimagal, ARN Matric,Govt. Boys high school, Govt. Girls high school, Paalvaadi and a college Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Maha Vidhyalaya College of Arts and Science. Shanthi Gears pvt. Limited, one of India's leading motor parts manufacturing company's HQ is located here. One and only electric cemetery of the city along with three individual cemeteries are here. Kannan departmental stores, one of the famous chain departmental stores in Tamil Nadu have established their stores and a wholesale bazaar. Shanthi Social Services a famous Public Charitable trust is located here which operates Canteen,Petrol bunk,Hospital, opticare division and Medical shop to do service to people. Ondipudur bridge is 2 km in length.

Onidpudur lies along NH 67 the arterial Trichy Road.[1]

Ondipudur currently has 2 TNSTC Depots in the Ondipudur TNSTC Complex namely Ondipudur-1 depot which holds only city bus & Ondipudur-2 depot which holds only Long Distance Buses while the Former Scrapyard that existed in Depot Complex is being transformed into Ondipudur-3 depot which is yet to open
