Nuno Lopes
Nuno Lopes (Lisboa, 6 May 1978 [1]) is a Portuguese actor. Awarded, in 2006, with the Best Actor Globo de Ouro for his performance in Alice, he also took the Best Actor prize at the Festival de Cinema Luso-Brasileiro and the Shooting Star award at the Berlin International Film Festival. He studied at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema).
Training
He graduated from the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, attended the Master Class at the École des Maîtres, and invested in studying abroad, being taught by Robert Castle, Susan Batson, Tom Brangle e Wass M. Stevens. Complementing his acting career, he has acquired additional skills during his formation: artistic fencing, dance, singing and music.

Theatre
His wide experience in theatre was built with th acting of pieces by renowned playwrights, like Bertold Brecht, William Shakespeare, August Strindberg, Heiner Muller, Georges Perec, Beaumarchais, Ferenec Molnár and Pierre Corneille. Among them are Man Equals Man, Cymbeline and The Marriage of Figaro.
Movies
From his film record, one can highlight his participation in ALice, Quaresma, Peixe Lua, and António, um rapaz de Lisboa. He has recently shot Paolo Marinou-Blanco's Goodnight Irene and Fanny Ardant's Cadences obstinées.
Television
In television, he has worked both in Portugal and in Brazil. In the latter, he was part of the cast of the telenovela Esperança. In Portugal, he entered several soap operas, series and shows, like Herman SIC, Fúria de Viver, Paraíso Filmes, Crianças S.O.S., Ajustes de Contas, Diário de Maria and Riscos.
He is, as of 2008, part of the cast of Os Contemporâneos.
Awards
Recently, Nuno Lopes won a Portuguese Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
