Navaneetha Krishnan is a Software Engineer and an Internet entrepreneur. In 2013, he co-founded the fashion shopping marketplace Voonik.[1] He is currently the Chief Technology Officer of Voonik.[2]

Early life

Krishnan hails from Erode, Tamil Nadu. He completed his Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering from the Mepco Schlenk Engineering College. While studying at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, he met Sujayath Ali and decided to launch the lean marketplace Voonik.[2]

Navaneetha Krishnan currently resides in Bengaluru and is married to a homemaker.

Career

Krishnan is a technology expert and has more than 13 years of experience in the startup industry. During his initial days, he was a garage stage employee at Zoho Corporation. He then moved on to become Aryaka India’s first engineer. He was the founding engineer leading API and integrations at Fresh Desk.[2]

In 2013, Krishnan co-founded Voonik, India’s first personal shopping app. The economy was shaky at this time with an uncertain business outlook but Krishnan and Ali had conviction in their ecommerce idea[2] and invested Rs. 50 lakh from their own pockets to establish the venture.[3] Currently, he serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Voonik.[2]

Voonik

Navaneetha Krishnan co-founded Voonik in 2013 along with Sujayath Ali. Voonik is a fashion shopping app that provides suggestions to customers based on their profile and search preferences.[2] As of June 2016, Voonik claims to have gained an annual gross merchandise volume of more than $80 million with 10 million registered users and 8 million app downloads.[4]

In 2015, Voonik raised $5 million as part of Series A funding from Sequoia Capital and an early stage investment Seed fund.[5]

In 2016, Navaneetha Krishnan and Sujayath Ali successfully acqui-hired Zohraa, an online marketplace for boutiques and designers; Styl, a salon and spa booking app; Picksilk, an online store for silk products,[4] TrialKart, Getsy and Dekkoh.[6]
