Nami Island International Picture Book Illustration Concours
The Nami Island International Picture Book Illustration Concours (Nami Concours) is a biannual award. It was launched in 2013 “for the purpose of offering wider opportunities to illustrators from all over the world who love children and picture books … our aim is to provide a platform for the discovery of world-caliber artists and thereby provide to children a more balanced and beautiful view of the world through their illustrations.”[1] The award is sponsored by Nami Island, Korea.
Objectives
"The primary aim of Nami Island International Illustrators Concours, or Nami Concours, is to provide artists with the opportunity to introduce their work on a global scale so that illustrators throughout the world can be inspired to create high quality works of art. Ultimately, we hope Nami Concours will contribute to an increase in the quality of picture book illustrations for children."[2]
