Mount Veynberg

Mount Veynberg (67°27′S 67°34′W / 67.450°S 67.567°W / -67.450; -67.567Coordinates: 67°27′S 67°34′W / 67.450°S 67.567°W / -67.450; -67.567) is a mountain rising to about 900 m in the south part of Haslam Heights, on Arrowsmith Peninsula in Graham Land. It was mapped by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) from surveys and air photos, 1948-59. It was named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) after Boris P. Veynberg (Russian) (1871–1942), a Russian physicist who, in 1936, made pioneer studies of the mechanical properties and flow of ice in laboratory conditions.
