Megalocottus platycephalus is a species of sculpin native to the northern Pacific Ocean. This species grows to a length of 42 centimetres (17 in) TL. This species, the only known member of its genus, is split into two sub-species:[1]
- Megalocottus platycephalus platycephalus (Pallas, 1814) (Belligerent sculpin)
- Megalocottus platycephalus taeniopterus (Kner, 1868) (Southern flathead sculpin)
