Its systems are found in household appliances and other industrial applications. The company has over 8,500 employees worldwide at 14 locations in ten countries on four continents. The annual turnover is 1 billion Euros.

• 1925: Johannes and Johannes Marquardt formed a “Special Plant for Electrical Needs and Fine Mechanics” in Rietheim
• 1928: First factory was built
• 1955: New plant in Böttingen, Germany
• 1976: Expansion of building in Böttingen, Germany
• 1981: New subsidiary in Cazenovia, USA
• 1991: Further internationalization in Moissy-Cramayel, France and Tunis, Tunisia
• 1996: New subsidiary in Shanghai, China and Mumbai, India
• 1999: New branch in Schaffhausen, Switzerland
