Bunge served on the general advisory board of the Valparaiso University magazine The Cresset,[4] and on the National Task Force for Education for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. From 2003-2008 she co-chaired the “Childhood Studies and Religion Consultation” of the American Academy of Religion. Bunge served on the Society of Biblical Literature's “Children in the Biblical World” section steering committee.[5] She has also written about Christians' responsibility toward the environment.[6]
