At completion of the 2010 championship round, the winners of Divs 1A & 1B played-off for the Thomson Shield, to determine the 2010 Lotto Sport Italia NRFL First Division champions which were Hamilton Wanderers and Onehunga Sports.

Both of these teams were promoted to the 2011 Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Premier.

Teams placed 2nd to 6th in Divs 1A & 1B contested the 2011 Lotto Sport Italia NRFL First Division.

Teams placed 7th & 8th in Divs 1A & 1B contested a play-off series with the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Div 2 winners.

The top two contested the 2011 Lotto Sport Italia NRFL First Division. The bottom three contested the 2011 Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Div 2.^[2]
