Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008
Lithuania chose its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 through a more downsized selection procedure rather than the long, drawn out processes from previous years. 34 songs were divided into three semifinals that took place on the three Saturdays before the final on 2 February 2008.[1] Aistė Pilvelytė and Julija Ritčik & Girma were given the two wildcards granting direct qualification into the final.[2]
Four songs qualified from the three semi-finals, completing the 14 song line-up in the final. The competition was hosted by Rolandas Vilkončius, with Gabrielė Bartkutė joining him in presenting the final. The voters favoured Jeronimas Milius' song Nomads in the Night which collected 11,674 votes and won in the national finals to represent Lithuania in the upcoming contest.
