List of strains of Escherichia coli
For Escherichia coli as a species, see Escherichia coli. For Escherichia coli pathogenic strains, see Pathogenic Escherichia coli. For Escherichia coli as a model organism, see Escherichia coli (molecular biology). For the protozoan parasite that can also be abbreviated as E. coli, see Entamoeba coli. For the 2011 E.coli outbreak, see 2011 E. coli O104:H4 outbreak.
Escherichia coli is a well-studied bacterium that was first identified by Theodor Escherich, after whom it was later named.
