List of songs recorded by Nirvana
Nirvana was an American rock band formed by singer/guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987, with drummer Dave Grohl joining the band in 1990. Though their brief run ended following the death of Kurt Cobain in 1994, Nirvana has come to be regarded as one of the most influential and important rock bands of the modern era.
The band recorded three studio albums; Bleach, Nevermind and In Utero, with other songs available on live albums, compilations, extended plays (EPs), singles and reissues. Other songs that have surfaced or are known to exist but have not been released officially.
Table
- The columns Title and Author list each song title and the writer(s) of each song, listed by last name only.
- The column Release includes the official release on which the song first appeared. If a title has gone out of print and/or later appeared on an equally significant release, the song will include multiple release listings. For example, a number of b-sides and compilation tracks have been reissued on the With the Lights Out box set.
- The columns Recorded, Location and Producer list the date that the song was recorded, the location of the studio or venue where the recording of the song took place and if applicable, the producer(s) of each song listed by last name.
