Lisa Gutkin

Lisa Gutkin is a Grammy-award winning violinist, mostly known for her work with the American Klezmer band, The Klezmatics.

Career

She joined The Klezmatics in 2002 with the release Rise Up! Shteyt Oyf! and remains a performing and composing member, notably having written the music for the acclaimed track off Wonder Wheel, "Gonna Get Through This World".

Lisa specializes in bluegrass, Klezmer, and Irish folk genres. She holds a Bachelor of Music in classical violin from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.

Gutkin has performed with John Cale, Steeleye Span, Jane Siberry and the Irish artists Tommy Sands, John Whelan, Steve Cooney and Cathie Ryan.
