Kishva Ambigapathy (born 24 November 1990) is the Chairperson of the Commonwealth Youth Council. Kishva was elected to the position of chairperson during the biennial Commonwealth summit in Valletta, Malta held from 27 to 29 November 2015.[1] He is the first Asian to be elected to the position at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2015.[2]

Early life and background

Kishva Ambigapathy is the only son of Professor Ambigapathy Pandian and Dr. Shanthi Balraj Baboo. Kishva was born in Leicester, United Kingdom. He had his secondary education at Penang Free School & Bukit Jambul High School in Malaysia, and his university education at University of Science, Malaysia (USM) and Durham University in the United Kingdom. In 2013, he completed his bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering at USM. While at Durham, he studies at Ustinov College, and will be graduating with a master's degree in Global Politics.[3] Kishva Ambigapathy is also a Chevening Scholarship recipient funded by the British government's Foreign and Commonwealth Office.[4]
