Kevin O'Connor (basketball)
Kevin O'Connor is the former General Manager and current Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations of the Utah Jazz. He took part in the drafting of Deron Williams in the 2005 Draft.[1] He is said to have learned how to develop character profiles in players from Frank Layden, his predecessor at General Manager.[2] O'Connor stepped down as General Manager in 2012, and the team hired former San Antonio Spurs executive Dennis Lindsey to assume the position.[3]
O'Connor attended Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island, New York and is a member of the Monsignor Farrell Hall of Fame.
EDUCATION: Belmont Abbey College (North Carolina) 1969, degrees in economics and business (Captained the basketball team to a 21-5 record his senior year)
