Keith Haynes (musician)
Keith Haynes (born 1963, Cardiff, Wales) is a published Welsh author and musician.
Publications
In 1998 he published his first book through Sigma books titled Come on Cymru. He followed it up with a second in 1999 titled Come on Cymru 2000. He has since written player biographies and specific books on professional and international footballers and local history books with Tempus Books and Francis Frith. He has also broadcast for the BBC in Wales and written for mainstream newspapers and publications including The Daily Mirror.[1][2]
Biography
He was brought up in Northampton and attended Parklands infants school and then the junior school until his family split and moved to London in 1974. Living in Marble Arch he attended St Georges School in Hanover Square before returning to the nomadic travellers lifestyle travelling to Lanarkshire and Essex for periods with intermittent schooling. He returned to Wales in 1977 to Sir Thomas Picton School in Haverfordwest There he formed punk rock band Picture Frame Seduction In 1980 he appeared on the compilation album Demolition Blues with the song Getcha Rocks Off. This is referenced in an interview with Haynes and ex Manager Jan Molby by BBC Radio Wales in 2002 after his football supporters group based in Gloucester assisted local fans in ousting then Swansea City owners from the club. Those local fans went on to run the club and later take Swansea City to the premier league
Picture Frame Seduction split up, then reformed in 1999.[3] In 2004 the band featured in the formidably titled book by Ian Glasper guitarist of The Stamping Ground Burning Britain A history of UK Punk Rock citing the bands whole history with photrographs confirming their longevity and foresight in 1982 as one of the countries first UK82 punk rock bands.
Haynes continues to write and his past two books are best selling biographical accounts of his experiences following Swansea City Football Club. They have been described as no holds barred accounts and sensational in content and description. In September 2012 he signed a new publishing deal to write Laudrup SA1 an account of the Swansea City 2012 / 2013 football season. Unfortunately due to a contractual dispute the book will not be published and Haynes is now writing for a mainstream publishing house away from the field of football and sport.
