Kawaji Toshiyoshi (川路 利良, Satsuma Province, c. 1829[1] – 1879[2]) was a Japanese politician during the Meiji period.

In Tokyo Kawaji planned to establish a police system similar to the gens d'armes in France.[1] He traveled to Europe to investigate its police system to help improve the Japanese system.[3]
