Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall
Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (born Wasiu Ayinde Adewale Omogbolahan Anifowoshe, March 3, 1957), also known as KWAM 1 (King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall), is a Nigerian Fuji musician. He is popular for his contribution to Fuji music with singles like Berlin, Awade, Ro Ra se. Mostly Songs whose lyrics are mainly praises to famous and affluent Nigerians. Wasiu Ayinde is often referred to as the King of Fuji music.[1]
KWAM 1 was a member of Ayinde Barrister's band, the Supreme Fuji Commanders from 1978 to 1984. He released his first solo album in 1980. He released his most successful album Talazo 84 in 1984.[2][3][4]
In 1995, KWAM 1 received an Nigerian music award for Best Fuji Artist. He was also named Best African Artist at the 1996 WOMAD Festival in Reading, England.[2][4]
KWAM 1 made a world tour in 2014 and he tours the United States annually.[5][6][7]
