Josh Griffiths is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner, and an instructor of the sport in New York. Josh is currently a black belt in BJJ. His highest accomplishments to date include becoming champion of the 2011 Abu Dhabi Pro Canadian Trials, 2011 Abu Dhabi Pro New Jersey Trials, 2010 NAGA No Gi Expert Division, and 2010 Abu Dhabi Pro Canadian Trials.

Personal biography

Griffiths began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2001 while also studying Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology. He first learned of the sport after attending an Ultimate Fighting Championship competition in New Jersey and becoming interested in mixed martial arts (MMA). He has trained under many of the top BJJ instructors in the U.S., including Marcelo Garcia (grappler), who is well known in the worlds of gi and no gi submission wrestling grappling.[1] Josh received his black belt in 2007 from UFC contender Kenny Florian and On 4/25/2014 Kenny Florian awarded Josh his 2nd degree black belt. .[2]

Currently, Griffiths owns and acts as head instructor of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Clockwork BJJ in New York City's NoHo neighborhood.
