Jordan Thompson (born 3 January 1997) is a Northern Irish footballer who plays as a midfielder at Scottish Championship club Raith Rovers on loan from Premiership side Rangers.
Early life
Thompson grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, supporting Rangers.[1]
Club career
Manchester United
Thompson started his career at Manchester United, spending four years at the club but failed to break into the first team.
Rangers
Thompson was released in the summer of 2015 and subsequently joined Rangers on trial. After impressing manager Mark Warburton, Thompson signed a two-year contract.[2] He made his professional debut for Rangers against Alloa Athletic on 7 November 2015.[3]
Loan moves
On 23 February 2016, Thompson joined the then Scottish League One side Airdrieonians on a 28-day emergency loan[4] and this loan was later extended to the end of the season.[5] He joined Raith Rovers on 5 August 2016.[6]
International career
Thompson has represented Northern Ireland at various age levels.
