Jogiara

It is one of Rajput dominated village of Bihar but many communities also lives in harmony here. Main Communities are: Rajput; Maithil Brahmins; Maithil Karna Kayastha;Haluwai, Thakur (Hazaam), Teli, Sudi, Mandal, Sewak, Tatma, Dom, Chamar, Jogiara, a place of historical achievement in the period of Muslims Emperor, this village has not been suppress for paying the Land revenue due to the bravery action taken. Mithila Maharaja Sir Kameshwar Singh , also known as Darbhanga Maharaja, never levied any land tax on this village, even awarded a 51 gold coins medal for the extra achievement to Mr. Govind Lal S/o, Banshi Lal , Younger brother of Mr. Mahabir Lal . Mr. Govind Lal was also a freedom fighter who's family denied to take any compensation. Jogiara is a village of very royalist behaviour nature. In comparison to other village of Bihar this village support the promotion of democracy among the inhabitants without any cast .

Jogiara is a village in Darbhanga district, Bihar, India. Jogiara is present in block Jale. Jogiara (JGA) is a railway station situated on Darbhnaga-Sitamerhi.The total population of the village is 6,713. The literacy rate is 57.25%. The female literacy rate is 44.09%. The male literacy rate is 67.99%.Jogiara village is named upon JOGI Thakur. Who migrated from Jhodhpur, Rajsthan in mid 17nth century, with his two siblings Bir singh and other one, [1] settled in Present day Raghopur, Vaishali( where his village is named upon him as Birpur.) and other one is settled in Rawaich village, near Bakhtiyarpur, Patna.They belong to the royal clan of Rathores of Jodhpur.

Demographics

The number of households in Jogiara is 1,384. All the households are rural households. The oldest Zamindari status holding House called the Haweli Deudhi of Jogiara. This Palace called as Deudhi was made by Babu Gopal Singh, a high level Zamindar Person. The Next Haweli called the Palace of Babu Narayan Prasad singh and the third one Haweli called as the Darwaar of Bansi Lal Das [ Father of Mahabir Prasad Lal Das (Railway Station Master and a Zamindar) / Govind lal (Freedom Fighter)]. Every types of Houses in these days are present in this village, Roads: roads are connected with the District head quarter Darbhanga. All the parts of this village is linked with Roads, Railways; Railways links trains are passes from Jogiara Railway Station on the main link Darbhanga- Sitamarhi- Raxaul


Female to male ratio of Jogiara is 93.01% compared to the Bihar's female to male ratio 91.93%. It is unsatisfactory and the people should drive some campaign to improve this.

Nawab Syed Mohd. Taqi,( Nawab of Navadda, a Part of Jogiara village), an eminent education lover.

Taqi, the Raja of Jogiara(Darbhanga), who was the founder of Zilla School, Muzaffarpur in 1845.The Life Honorary Secretary of the Society was the founder of the college at Aligarh,( Dr.Md SajjadLecturer, Centre of Advanced Study.Deptt. Of History, AMU, Aligarh)

The district gazetteer of Muzaffarpur, written by LSS’O’Mally, The oldest Higher Secondary School of this Jogiara Village named as " Shree Ram Ji Priya uchcha Vidyalay" . Mr. Jagadish Prasad Singh, a person belongs to the Deudhi Palace, was the Founder of this School. Among this the Middle School, Sanskrit vidyalay, Mahila vidyalay was also enforced since the British India. The Degree holders in the several fields of Education are presents in this village. like the D.Litt ( Doctor of Letter's); Ph.D. ( Doctor of Philosophy; LL.D; M.D. ( Medicine & Surgery); Engineer, Chartered Accountants, MBA, etc. The literacy rate of the village is 57.25% compared to the literacy rate of state 47%. The literacy rate of the village is better than state literacy rate. Anyhow, the rate of literacy is low and needs immediate attention of Union and State Government.

The female literacy rate is 44.09% compared to male literacy rate of 69.59%.
