Jerald Justin Ko, better known by the stage name JK / JK Power98, is a Singaporean radio personality.[1] Since 2010, JK has been working as a radio disc jockey for Singapore-based music station Power98FM.[2]

Education

Ko is an alumnus of the University of Western Australia[3] and was the face for their Open Day Campaign in Singapore for 2014.[4]

One of the most recognizable faces on the events stage in Singapore,[5] JK has been an emcee for hundreds of events over the years, and is well known for hosting races, with many calling him "The Voice of Singapore's Running Events;[6] some of these include Nike We Run SG,[7] the 2XU Compression Run,[8] The SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon,[9] The Pocari Sweat Run,[10] The North Face 100 Singapore,[11] and the Energizer Singapore Night Trail,[12] in addition to charity racing events for the National University of Singapore [13] and The SingTel Singapore Cancer Society's Race Against Cancer.[14]

JK has also hosted a wide variety of events including press conferences, roadshows, carnivals, official ceremonies, as well as various corporate functions with clients like BMW, Exxon Mobil, and MINDEF .[15]

National Day Parade

In August 2015, JK hosted the National Day Parade 2015 Celebrations @ The Float, in front of a crowd of 26,000 people.[16]

Voice-Over

Since 2010, JK's voice has featured in various commercials for clients like Ben & Jerry's, SingTel, and Clear Men. Known for his lively and vibrant tone, he was also the narrator for Defence News in a Nutshell (DNN) which features the latest news in the Singapore Armed Forces and is watched by more than 100,000 National Servicemen fortnightly.[17]

Amazing Race Asia

In 2016, JK and his on air co-host Mike successfully auditioned for The Amazing Race Asia. They will be featured in the show as contestants for the 5th season.[18]

Singapore Media Award (Best Use of Radio)

In 2011, JK spearheaded a campaign for SingTel, titled "Operation Command & Deliver", which helped NSFs in Singapore fulfill their wishes and expressions of love towards their loved ones.[19] The campaign was a massive success, winning a Singapore Media Award for Best Use of Radio[20] and also helped SingTel garner a 30% increase in Youth Plan Signups and a 45% increase in positive online buzz.[21]

Recognized as perhaps the most energetic radio personality in Singapore, JK has interviewed stars like Mel B of the Spice Girls,[22] Simple Plan,[23] Evanesence,[24] YouTube Star Bethany Mota,[25] Olympic Champion Allyson Felix [26] and many more.

Power Breakfast Show

After almost 5 years hosting Power 98FM's Night Show, JK was promoted to Senior Radio Presenter. Since March 2015 he has helmed the station's flagship Morning Radio Show along with co-host Michael Tan.[27]

Personal life

JK proposed to his fiance, Vion Seng, on 26 March 2014, in a "How I Met Your Mother" video style proposal at a cinema in Cathay Cineleisure Orchard.[28]

They were married on 19 June 2015 at W Singapore Sentosa Cove.
