As a member of NAJAS, the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati (JASGC) is dedicated to fostering new business, political and cultural connections betweens the citizens, companies, and governments of Japan and the Greater Cincinnati area, leading to a more productive stabile and enriched relationship between the two countries.
Events
- Sake Tasting an annual spring event attracting serval hundred participants to enjoy informal networking and various kinds of rice wine
- Golf Outing a JASGC event of the Summer of which a portion of profits go to the Japanese Saturday School
- Bonenkai a traditional end of the year party held so that participants may ward off any bad luck from the current year following them to the next
Ongoing projects
- Cranes for the Cure in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month the JASGC creates several senbazuru which are then gifted to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
- Cherry Tree Planting as part of the JASGC's 20th Anniversary Celebration the organization planted 150 cherry trees[1] with the hope of adding a hanami to the calendar of yearly events.
