James “Jim” Pallotta (born March 13, 1958) is a billionaire American businessman and entrepreneur.[2] In 2009, he founded Raptor Group, a private investment company.[3] Prior to forming Raptor, Pallotta served as Vice Chairman at Tudor Investment Corporation. Additionally, Pallotta is the President and Chairman of the Italian football club A.S. Roma; Co-Owner and Executive Board Member of the National Basketball Association’s Boston Celtics,[4] and Co-Owner of eSports franchise Fnatic.
Early life
Pallotta was born in 1958 in Boston to Angela Maria Di Giacomo from Canosa, Apulia and her husband James Pallotta from Calabria. Along with sisters Carla and Christine Pallotta, he was raised in Boston’s Italian North End Neighborhood. His sisters own and operate Cucina & Enoteca in Boston’s Financial District.[5] Jim Pallotta received his B.A. at University of Massachusetts – Amherst and received his M.B.A. at Northeastern University.

Pallotta founded Raptor Group, a private investment company with offices in Boston, MA; New York, NY; Miami, FL; London, England; and Abu Dhabi, UAE. Raptor focuses on various industries including, but not limited to: Sports, Consumer, Technology, Media, Entertainment, and Financial Services.
Tudor Investment Corporation
Prior to Raptor Group Pallotta served as a Vice Chairman and Partner at Tudor Investment Corporation. Founded in 1980 by Paul Tudor Jones II the firm is based in Greenwich, CT, with additional offices in Boston, MA; New York, NY; Washington, District of Columbia. Tudor invests in the public equity, fixed income and alternative markets across the globe. Tudor employs combination of fundamental and quantitative analysis along with combination of bottom-up and top-down stock picking approach to create its portfolio.[6]
A.S. Roma
Pallotta, along with three other American investors (Thomas R. DiBenedetto, Michael Ruane and Richard D'Amore) submitted a bid for the acquisition of Roma; they were already interested in the team following the failure of negotiations with George Soros.[7]
On August 27, 2012 Pallotta became the president of club, succeeding Thomas R. DiBenedetto, and becoming the 23rd in the club's history.[8]
