Jaded Sun is an Irish hard rock band from Dublin, formed in 2002 and currently signed to Sian Records. They have been celebrated for the hard hitting blend of blues-based rock. The band has gained recent popularity with the release of the acclaimed EP "Raw" followed by a very highly rated debut album (Gypsy Trip).

History

Raw (2004)

Jaded Sun went through the paces as most other bands do, gigging and saving to enable them to record their critically acclaimed debut EP “RAW” in 2004. The title track of the EP, "Raw" brought them to the foreront of rock in the Ireland and went on to become the most downloaded track on Irelands download charts, breaking all download records in Ireland, staying at the top of the charts for almost 30 weeks.

Falling On The Fears (2005)

In May 2005, the band went straight into the studio with Ireland’s top rock producers Chris O’Brien and Graham Murphy, with Chris being known for his work with Aslan, Hot House Flowers and Adam Clayton. This led to the “Falling On The Fears” EP, which was tipped for number 1 by 2fm’s Larry Gogan in late 05′. Afterwards a tour through Ireland and Great Britain followed and they played sold-out shows such as in Dublin and London. In 2006 they were on several festivals including the Glasgowbury Festival and as support for Bon Jovi and Nickelback in the Irish Croke Park (Jaded Sun are the third Irish Band to ever play in Ireland’s largest premier music stadium).

Gypsy Trip (2008)

After gaining new experience they started to record their debut album Gypsy Trip together with producers Richard Mouser (Weezer, Dream Theater, Tears for Fears), Jimmy Coup (The Coup de Grace and Andrew W.K.) and Robert Vosgien (Lenny Kravitz, Bush, Goo Goo Dolls). Production began in Moneygall, Ireland, was recorded in Los Angeles and finally mastered in Ireland. Gypsy Trip was released on March 26, 2008 in Ireland and Great Britain through Sian Records, the German release through New Music Distribution followed on April 25, 2008.
Jaded Sun have gigged extensively through Ireland and Europe (which included Zwarte Cross festival in the Netherlands and comprehensive tours of the Netherlands, France & Germany). On October 24, 2009 they performed in India at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, as the headlining act of the annual IIT Kanpur rock festival, Synchronicity, held in the canopy of the biggest cultural festival of India, Antaragni.

Whiskey Drinker (2010)

‘Whiskey Drinker E.P.’ is a 5 track cd, and is the follow-up release after their successful debut album ‘Gypsy Trip’. The E.P. features 4 brand new songs and also a previously unreleased version of Crave from ‘Gypsy Trip’. ‘Whiskey Drinker E.P.’ was released on 29 October on Jaded Sun Records. The E.P. was recorded in Pacific Rock Studios, Cergy, France and in Camelot Studios, Dublin with ‘Crave’ recorded in The Mousehouse Studio, Los Angeles, United States. For Jaded Sun, ‘Whiskey Drinker E.P.’ is a stepping stone towards recording their second album, of which plans are in place to commence recording in November with the aim of a release in Spring 2011. With the release of ‘Whiskey Drinker E.P.’ and their second album, Jaded Sun look to follow up on the success of ‘Gypsy Trip’ which enabled the band to comprehensively tour countries such as Ireland, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain and even gig in India.
