Ita Purnamasari (born July 15, 1967) is an Indonesian singer, songwriter and actress who was her garnered fame with hits single in 1988 "Penari Ular". Purnamasari is an wife of jazz musician and songwriter Dwiki Dharmawan.
Career
Purnamasari began her debut career for model who had became an finalist in the cover magazine GADIS in 1980's. Billboard Indonesia has signed recording contract with her and has releasing her debut studio album, titled Fatimah in 1987. Unfortunately, her album was lowest-selling album in market. A year later, Purnamasari has releasing the single "Penari Ular" which had popularity in 1988 and charted in radio and song charts. In addition, Purnamasari has releasing her second and third studio album, Penari Ular (1988) and Selamat Tinggal Mimpi (1989)
In 1991, Purnamasari had return to released fourth album, titled Cakrawala Cinta and also release self-titled album single. Its single make her to successful in market and earning an awards in the 1992 BASF Awards. In addition, Purnamasari has joining the music group Tiga Dara with Paramitha Rusady and Sylvana Herman.
Purnamasari has released many other studio album in local music industry from 1990s to 2000s, including Kembalilah Padaku (1994), Semakin Sayang, Semakin Cinta (1996) and Cinta Itu Ada (1996) and also several compilation album, such as Swalayan (1989) and Cintak Padamu (1992).
In addition as singer, Purnamasari also played her debut acting in a television which aired on RCTI Sayangi Aisyah in 2005, which only appeared as supporting role. She also singing the soundtrack song for the drama soap opera.
After her long vacuum in music career, Purnamasari has releasing a new single "Satu Kata"[1] and also the studio album, titled 3 Dekade.[2]
Personal life
Purnamasari married to musician Dwiki Dharmawan on October 23, 1995.[3] During of pregnant with her child, she was sentenced to a tumor; even to go to medicine in Singapore. According of doctors, if the tumors isn't removed, it will reflect badly with her. But on the other side; when removed, will cause defects. Purnamasari get advice of a doctor from Surabaya that decided to continue to contain for her child.
Finally, Purnamasari gave birth to her son, Mohamad Fernanda Darmawan, in safely and later discovered that the tumor turned out to be just a former ulcer pain in liver where she suffered in 1994.
