Irish Woodsball League

The Irish Woodsball League (IWL) is a woodsball league held in Ireland.[1] The IWL was founded in 2010 to accommodate the ever growing sport of woodsball in Ireland. Teams play over a varying number of legs using a seven man format. Registration is open to any team of seven players or more (capped at 12 players) and was governed by a full set of rules.[2]

Sponsorship

Since its inception the IWL and its teams have attracted sponsorship from several manufacturers and distributors of paintball equipment. Including Airdrop Paintball, Irish paintball supply and Just Paintball.

2012: Battlebridge in Carrick on Shannon, County Roscommon, Frontier paintball in Bray, County Wicklow and Rapid Fire in Maganey, Co. Kildare.

2011: Battlebridge in Carrick on Shannon, Spec Ops in Borris, Co. Carlow and Rapid Fire in Maganey, Co. Kildare.

2010: Battlebridge in Carrick on Shannon, County Roscommon and Frontier paintball in Bray, County Wicklow

Cessation

The league ceased mid season in 2012 due to the failure of all teams to comply with rule sets in place which resulted in teams quiting the league leaving to few teams to finish the current season. In 2013 the league confirmed its cessation.
