Intronis is a provider of online backup and disaster recovery solutions...[1] Founded in 2003, Intronis was developed as a reseller backup service that offers an offsite backup service.

Value-added resellers and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) sell Intronis as a white label product to Small Medium-Sized Businesses. According to a profile published by IDC, Intronis enjoys a 90% or greater retention rate among its service providers.[2]

Intronis was named a Top Cloud Service Provider,[3] 2014 Best Channel Vendor,[4] 2013 MSPmentor 250[5] and received a CRN’s 2014 5-Star Partner Rating[6]

In 2015 Intronis was acquired by Barracuda Networks.[7]

Products

Intronis ECHOplatform[8] provides cloud backup and disaster recovery for both on-premises and off-premises for file, folder and system data protection. The company also provides bare metal restore,[9] image backup; and reverse incremental backup.

Intronis ECHOshare[10] is a file synchronization and file sharing solution to manage, organize and share files. It provides authorization access controls and file and folder system permissions and the ability to access files from any devices[11]

In June 2014, Intronis announced a monthly fixed flat rate pricing[12] with unlimited local storage for managed service providers customers.[13][14]

Integrations

Intronis partners with a number of RMM and PSA platforms to increase productivity for MSPs. These partners include Autotask,[15] ConnectWise,[16] Continuum,[17] Kaseya, GFI MAX, AVG/Level Platforms, N-able Technologies (by SolarWinds) and LabTech.

Investors

Intronis secured $10 million in Series A funding from OpenView Venture Partners in October 2007.[18] In July 2012, raised an additional $3.9 million in venture funding from a combination of debt and equity financing from undisclosed sources. Intronis subsequently raised $12 million[19] in venture funding from Greenspring Associates[20] and OpenView Venture Partners in November 2012[21]
