Infinity Luthiers

Infinity Luthiers is an American manufacturer of handmade custom high-end steel stringed guitars and mandolins headquartered in Springfield, Illinois. It was founded by luthier Chris Oliver.

In 2007, a group of scuba divers, wood experts and businessmen formed a company in Belize to salvage exotic tropical logs from the creeks and rivers. That company gave it their best shot and failed. What now? Greener Lumber LLC and Infinity Luthiers have partnered to continue the operation and bring the highest quality mahoganies and other Central American woods not seen since the 1700 - 1800s. The logs being found have been on the bottom of the creeks and rivers for up to 200 years. Back in the period when Belize was a British colony, trees were felled and held in the waterways until a transport at the mouth of the river was ready for a load. Then, the chains used to secure the logs upstream would be released and the logs traveled down the river. It is suspected that as much as 50 percent of the logs harvested never made it down the rivers to the ships and still lay in those creeks and rivers.^{[1] [2]}
