Helmut Emil Friedrich Hans Klassmann (15 May 1914 – 25 January 1984) was a Kapitänleutnant with the Kriegsmarine during World War II, commander of the 3rd Räumbootflottille and recipient of the coveted Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.
