HelmsBriscoe

HelmsBriscoe is a meetings procurement and site selection agency headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. Founded in 1992 by Roger Helms, HelmsBriscoe has a network of more than 1,200 Associates operating in 55 countries, [1] each of whom averages 12 years of hotel, meeting planning and industry experience to deliver meetings worldwide.[2] In 2015, the company booked $1.075 billion in rooms revenue, representing 5.45 million room nights and more than 42,000 programs. HelmsBriscoe was the first company in its space to deliver one billion dollars in group room revenue to the industry in a single year, which they first achieved in 2014.

Because HelmsBriscoe works on behalf of their clients and not as a hotel representative, hotels all over the world are researched to find the best location and price based on the criteria their clients provide. The process consists of an Associate discussing the client’s program needs and creating request for proposals (RFP) to evaluate potential venues. The company will track down the answers, follow up with the hotels, and manage the process on the client’s behalf, all at no charge to the client.

History

HelmsBriscoe was founded in 1992 [3] by Roger Helms in Scottsdale, AZ with a very simple premise - by representing their clients, they can create the best match between the needs of the meeting planner and the right hotel.

Leadership

Industry Relationships

HelmsBriscoe maintains a vast array of partnerships with virtually every major hotel chain and most independent properties both domestically and internationally.[4]

Executive Vice President, Richard Harper, serves as the company liaison on the Meetings Mean Business Coalition and the USTA travel board.

HelmsBriscoe Associates participate in a variety of industry organizations at the national and local levels. A few examples of these organizations include:

Corporate Social Responsibility

HelmsBriscoe’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) philosophy is simple – to treat others the way we wish to be treated. HelmsBriscoe has long lived by the mantra, “doing well by doing good.” This philosophy is demonstrated through HB’s core values and involvement in the local community, also known as HB Cares. At the heart of the HelmsBriscoe organization is the belief that corporate success is more than just financial gain. As a result, over the last 20 years, HelmsBriscoe has made significant contributions to a host of charitable causes, giving back to communities and changing the lives of those in need.

The culture of giving back is more than just a philosophy at HelmsBriscoe. Through the HB Cares initiative, Associates in local communities are encouraged and supported in their efforts of volunteerism and charitable contributions. More specifically, Associates track and report their volunteer hours collectively. To date, it is estimated that HelmsBriscoe Associates have donated more than 18,000 hours in volunteer efforts to causes worldwide. HelmsBriscoe Associates, along with their Clients and HB Hotel and Destination Partners, participate in a variety of volunteer efforts each year benefiting hundreds of causes throughout the globe. This commitment to giving back is also reflected in the HelmsBriscoe corporate office through activities such as food drives, supply collections for domestic violence and homeless shelters, and HB-sponsored Habitat for Humanity homes. In addition, each year at the HelmsBriscoe Annual Business Conference (ABC), a charitable cause is selected to receive a donation from the Helms Foundation, which was established in 2005.
