Heather Parker

Heather Parker (born Boston, Massachusetts, United States) is an American photographer and glitch artist, known for her work in documentary photography, as well as glitch art created from photographs of food. Parker is the cousin of Hoorsenbuhs partner Kether Parker.

Biography

Heather began working with digital media after being formally trained in film photography at Massachusetts College of Art and Design under Abelardo Morell, Frank Gohlke and Laura McPhee.

Parker's documentary work includes photographing artists in and around Boston, deejays around the country, and Vespa rallies.

The glitch art that Parker has exhibited^[1] lays out defects produced by databending using a combination of audio editing software and photo software. Parker gained a B.F.A. from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2000 and resides in Chicago and the Fort Point Channel Historic District of Boston. She is a member of the Fort Point Arts Community^[2] and was noted in the Boston Globe^[3] as part of a campaign to save the historic Old Northern Avenue Bridge.
