Hasnul Suhaimi

Hasnul Suhaimi ST (born in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, 23 April 1957[1]) is a telecommunications practitioner from Indonesia.[2] He is a former CEO of PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk, also known as XL (2006-2015). Previously he worked at Schlumberger (1981–1982). Then he worked at PT Indosat in 1983-2006.[1]

Career

Hasnul is an electrical engineering graduate of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in 1981.[1] After graduating, he worked at Schlumberger companies. At that time, the world of telecommunications in Indonesia is not yet too developed. Communication operators that emerged were still a little. However, Hasnul see great opportunities in Indonesia's telecommunication world. Hasnul decided to move to PT Indosat in 1983. He also had time to become one board of directors of PT. IM3 and PT. Telkomsel when still in Indosat.[3]

Hasnul began his career at PT Indosat as staff planning. While working there, Hasnul got the opportunity to study an MBA from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, USA (graduated 1992).[4] After that, his career has been increasing which grabbed the top position as President Director of PT Indosat in 2005 until 2006.[1]

In September 2006, Hasnul decided to change job and officially appointed as the new President Director of PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk or XL, and retired in April 2015. Previously, since July he worked as a Business Adviser in Telekom Malaysia International. He is committed to leading the XL toward its vision of becoming the service provider of information and communication technology in Indonesia selected for both individual and business customers.[1]
