Gold Shield Award

The Gold Shield Award (earlier called Global Security Contribution Award) is a prestigious[1] international prize awarded every two years to 10-15 security professionals who have made what is described as "outstanding contributions in the global security industry".[2] The prize was initiated in 2009 by China Public Security Expo (CPSE) along with the Global Security Industry Alliance (GSIA).[3][4]

In the selection process, the Awards Committee evaluates what is described as "each candidate's personal contributions in promoting industry outreach, developing environmentally sound products, encouraging technical innovation, promoting responsible corporate stewardship, crafting beneficial market research and analysis tools and promoting social responsibility for a safer world".[5] Notable recipients include Ray Mauritsson, CEO at Axis Communications[6] and Selva Selvaratnam, vice president at HID Global.[7]
