Furor (music)
Furor is a musical composition by Juan María Solare. The piece (length: approx. 3:15) was composed in November and December 2008 originally for piano, but there are versions (original from the composer) for different ensembles:
- solo piano (original version), ISWC: T-802.662.090-7
- violin and piano
- quartet: bandonion, violin, double bass and piano
- trio: violin, double bass & piano
- quartet: accordion, clarinet, cello and piano (version made for the quartet Tango Catz from Denmark)
- flute and piano
In its original version (solo piano), Furor is included in the CD Tango Monologues.
Aesthetic
Furor is a peculiar piece and difficult to classify, since it founds itself in a field between free jazz, Bartokian rhythms and tango flair. It is at the same time a concert piece adequate for classical music and also could be found at a jazz festival.
