Franz-Josef Deiters

Franz-Josef Deiters is a Melbourne-based literary scholar. He is Associate Professor in German Studies at Monash University. Before moving to Australia he taught at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen (Germany), and has held visiting appointments at the University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt/M. (Germany).[1] Deiters is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities.

Deiters's areas of research range across German literature from the 18th century to the present, literary theory, especially the theory of authorship, the narratives of work, the cultural history of literary pseudonyms, the theory and history of drama and theatre, the intersection of literature and philosophy as well as some aspects of media theory.
