Fairhope Film Festival

Fairhope Film Festival is an annual event held in Fairhope, Alabama.

Editions

The festival was founded in 2013, and the first event occurred between November 7 and 10, 2013, which screened forty films across four venues.[1][2] The first selections were split fairly evenly between fictional films and documentaries.[3] The second festival occurred between November 6 and 9, 2014, which screened 43 feature films and about twenty short films over six venues.[4] The third festival occurred between November 12 and 15, 2015,[5] which again featured more than forty films over six venues.[6] At the 2015 festival, all forty films had been screened before at other festivals.[7] The fourth edition will take place between November 10 and 13, 2016.[8]

The festival is held in Fairhope, Alabama.[9] The Birmingham News has written of the festival that it, “gives patrons the opportunity to explore other worlds that are impressive for how exotic they are.”[10] Since 2014 the festival director has been Mary Riser.[11] The festival also includes panels from film industry professionals.[12] They have also partnered with the Fairhope Brewing Company for festival events.[13]
