Eva Paunova (born 26 January 1988) is a Bulgarian politician. She is a member of the European Parliament representing the European People's Party Group (Christian Democrats).

Early life and education

Paunova was born in Sofia on 26 January 1988. She studied International Relations and Business Administration at John Cabot University in Rome from 2005–2008.[1]

Career

Paunova worked in the International Development Law Association in Rome from 2008–2009 before becoming a political advisor to MEP Iliana Ivanova.

Paunova stood for the European Parliament as a member of Bulgaria's GERB Party at the 2014 election and became one of Bulgaria's seventeen MEPs on 1 July 2014.[1] She is the youngest member of the European People's Party.[2] She co-chairs the Youth Intergroup[3] and is a member of the EP's delegation for relations with China and the United States.[1] In 2015, Parliament Magazine named her the European Parliament's "best newcomer".[4][5]
