Endah N Rhesa is an Indonesian pop and folk duo group formed by an wife-husband Endah Widihastuti and Rhesa Aditya in Jakarta. Previously, the duo group is an musical project comprising acoustic guitar, bass and vocal.
Formation
Before forming group of Endah N Rhesa, Endah Widihastuti had solo artist and joining a rock band. In there, Endah had met to Rhesa Aditya. In 2005, Endah had released the mini album, entitled The New Beginning which produced by Aditya. Still same of year, Endah N Rhesa was officially formed due to released the album Nowhere to Go in D.I.Y.
Career
2005-2009: Nowhere To Go
Endah N Rhesa has released Nowhere to Go (repackaged version) in 2005 and 2006 EP' album Real Live, a live recording piece. Nowhere to Go had sold 25000 copies in Indonesia. The group marketed and distributed both of former and the latter all by themselves through their stages.
After that, Endah N Rhesa is coming into a whole broader world. The group had awarded as 2010 Rookie of the Year by Indonesian Rolling Stone Indonesia magazine. At Anugerah Musik Indonesia in 2006, their debut album had winning Best Alternative Album Production.
2009-2013: Look What We’ve Found and Escape
Their second studio album Look What We’ve Found had released on October 10, 2010 and produced other single: "Tuimbe (Let’s Sing)", "Kou-kou the Fisherman" and "Wish You Were Here". According of Indonesian Rolling Stone magazine, the album had listed for 20 Best Indonesian Album, occupies #19.[1] In 2011, the group return awarded as Best Performance Alternative Artist and Best Producer Alternative Album on Anugerah Musik Indonesia.
In addition, Endah N Rhesa had performed in many venues in Indonesia and invited to performed in several countries, including Malaysia and Kazakhstan.[2] Their released third studio album Escape. Endah N Rhesa appointed as arranger (alias composer) for film Cita-Citaku Setinggi Tanah.
Endah N Rhesa had released anthology self-titled album in Japan and South Korea through Rambling Records, a Japanese label.[3] Still same of year, the folk group’ single "Cinta Dalam Kardus" appointed as original soundtrack to film Cinta Dalam Kardus which starred by Raditya Dika.
2015-present: Seluas Harapan
In 2015, Endah N Rhesa had performed in Darwin Festival in Australia for twice days on August 15 and 16.[4][5][6] The group released the fourth studio album, entitled ‘’Seluas Harapan’’ on September 2 and collaboration of songs written in 2008–2015 that previously released in many projects. After one day released, their album had available in iTunes on September 3.
