Ellen Goldsmith-Vein (born c. 1964) is an American television and film producer. She is the founder and chief executive of the Gotham Group, a television animation company.
Early life
Ellen Goldsmith-Vein was born circa 1964 in La Jolla, California.[1] She graduated from Hollins University in 1984.[2]
Career
Goldsmith-Vein started her career as a real estate mortgage broker.[1] Subsequently, she worked as a secretary at William Morris Agency.[1] She later worked for Nelvana, followed by Atlas Entertainment.[1]
Goldsmith-Vein founded the Gotham Group, a television animation company, in January 1994.[1][3] Five years later, in 1999, it merged with Michael Ovitz's Artist Management Group.[1] However, when she signed a $300 million contract with the government of South Korea to make eight animated movies in 2008, she still served as its chief executive.[4]
Goldsmith-Vein is a television and film producer. She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2008 for her work on the television series Creature Comforts.[5]
Personal life
Goldsmith-Vein is married to Jon F. Vein, the co-founder and chief executive officer of MarketShare.[6] They had a son, Jack, and a daughter, Caroline.[7] They reside in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, California.[6][8] They hosted a US$2,700 fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign on February 22, 2016.[6][9]
