Education in the Cayman Islands
Education in the Cayman Islands is compulsory to the age of 16 and is free to all Caymanian children.[1] The literacy rate for residents over age 15 is 98%.[1] Schools follow the British educational system.[1] The Cayman Islands Education Department operates 10 primary, one special education, and 3 high schools.[1] In addition, there is a university and a law school.[1] There are also numerous private schools.
