Edidi is a town in the Kwara State of southwestern Nigeria, inhabited by the Yoruba people. The towns of Edidi comprise three villages: Edidi Oja, Edidi Oke-Ona and Edidi Idera. Edidi is located about 400 km (250 mi) northeast of Lagos and about 53 km (33 mi) south of Ilorin.
Demographics
Edidi people are predominantly farmers growing cash crops like kola nuts, cocoa and palm oil. They are also known to be major producers of yam, cassava, maize and various other fruit.
Edidi people are generally well educated. They are subject to their king, the Eledidi of Edidi, assisted by high chiefs of several compounds. The town comprises Christians and Muslims with both groups interacting well during the celebration of religious observances and holidays.
The kingship is rotated among these three villages viz: Edidi Idera, Edidi Oke Ona and Edidi Oja in that order.A great number of National Icons have been produced and are still being produced from the town.
Many of the indigines graduated from the renowned St. Andrew Anglican Primary School and the Victory College of Commerce.(VCC)
Past and Present Rulers
Edidi is currently under the rulerships Of Her Royal Majesty, Oba, Gabriel Kolawole Aboyeji (Aretujoye II). He is from the Aretujoye ruling families of Edidi Oia and was enthroned in 1993.

Tourism / Special Events
Ojude Oba Celebration - This event is celebrated by all residents and citizens of Edidi at the dusk of December 25 of Every year. It is an event organized to offer prayers to God and recognize outstanding contributions. The event is held at the palace of Eledidi of Edidi.
At this event, a procession of peer groups / Social Clubs is made to the King for prayers and recognition. While the King appreciates each peer group / Social Club for their contributions to the community and effort towards uplifting the lives of its citizenry, he also recognizes outstanding service / Support and also offers Prayers for the forthcoming year.
