Edaga Arbi

Edaga-Arbi (Geez: ዕዳጋ-ዓርቢ) is a town in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia, 42 km south east of Adwa. It is the administrative and economic center of the woreda Werie Lehe.

Edega-arbi is mainly known for its traditional, historical and modern education settlement. "Awune-Tshama" one of the 9 saints stated in bible is believed buried to the mountain(monastery) of Edaga-Arbi. Edaga-arbi has been called by Endaba-Tsahma or "5 Zufan". This Endaba-Tsahma indicates it has been the residency of the saint. Another name 5 zufan (The throne of 5) emerged from the 5 brothers and sisters who settle there centuries before. It is believed these 5 brothers and siters namely (Awol, Elos, Stafe, Amete'ksos, Amete'michael) are the grand son of the famous King of Ethiopia Emperor Nblle-dngl.

ዕዳጋ ዓርቢ is a small city surrounded with many amazing mountains which looks they have been carved with an artist. The Endaba-Tsahma mountain is so tall and filled with many beautiful trees.

when you looks down from the mountain tops you can see as far as 200 miles. The growing city of Edaga Arbi is seated between the mountain Endba-Tsahma or Debri and Adi-wahilay. Many tourist don't knows there is a shortcut road from Adwa to Mekele that pass through Edaga Arbi and Temben. instead of taking the main road through the city of Adigrat to Mekele they can enjoy more nature if they pass though this growing city Edaga Arbi.
