East African cricket team in England in 1972
A cricket team representing the East African states of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda toured England in the 1972 season as part of a drive to encourage the development of cricket in that part of Africa.
The game has subsequently seen real progress in Kenya where the national team is now (2007) a regular participant at the Cricket World Cup and is a realistic candidate for Test match status.
The 1972 team played limited overs matches only. There were 18 in all and opponents included MCC and several first-class county teams, though admittedly a few of these were at Second XI level in the early part of the tour.
