Dysoxylum cauliflorum is a tree in the Meliaceae family. The specific epithet cauliflorum is from the Latin meaning "flowers on the trunk".[2]
Description
The tree grows up to 30 metres (100 ft) tall with a trunk diameter of up to 50 centimetres (20 in). The bark is grey. The sweetly scented flowers are white, pinkish or cream. The fruits are red, shaped like a top, up to 4 cm (2 in) in diameter.[2]
Distribution and habitat
Dysoxylum cauliflorum is found in Indochina, Thailand and Malesia. Its habitat is a variety of forests from sea-level to 1,500 metres (5,000 ft) altitude.[2]
