Dr. Nabi Hasan is currently University Librarian of Maulana Azad Library , Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).[1] Earlier he was Senior Most Deputy Librarian at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD)[2] in New Delhi, India. Prior to joining IITD, he was Deputy Librarian and a regular Post Graduate Faculty at Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV) at Palampur in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India.

He is the "First Norman Borlaug Fellow" from India in Library Information Systems at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA in 2006 and was trained in "Electronic Library Resources Management" under Mary Ochs, Director, A.R. Mann Library, Cornell University. He was awarded Outstanding as a participant by the Cornell University. Dr. Hasan is also the recipient of the "Vice-Chancellor Appreciation Award (2003) and "Appreciation Certificate" from the University for Extraordinary Works and Services in 2009. He has also received "Appreciation from the Chairman, Board Of Governors" , Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 2012.

Education

He did his Master of Library and Information Science from Aligarh Muslim University; Ph.D. from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar; Certificate course in ICT Applications in Library from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), IPR Course from World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), UN, Geneva and Norman Ernest Borlaug Fellowship in "Electronic Library Resources Management" from Cornell University, New York, USA. He has also achieved Six Sigma White Belt Certificate from ABI, Ohio, USA and has recently been given certification as "Microsoft Faculty Fellow".
